JCB’s newest electric machine has been crowned Rental Product of the Year at the 14th annual European Rental Awards.
The JCB 525-60E electric Loadall telescopic handler, which is manufactured at JCB’s Compact Products factory in Cheadle, Staffordshire, won the coveted accolade at an event in Amsterdam jointly organised by the European Rental Association (ERA) and leading trade magazine International Rental News (IRN).
Launched last year, the 525-60E is the first fully electric version of JCB’s Loadall telescopic handler concept which it pioneered in 1977.
The ERA awards judging panel said of the machine: “JCB is responding to the demand from the rental market for clean, low-emissions equipment, and the new electric Loadall – as well as being an effective and productive machine – is also an important statement of intent.”
A JCB spokesman said: “We are thrilled to win this award for a brand new JCB electric product, which offers a zero emissions load handling solution with no compromise in performance or productivity. We are extremely excited about the prospects for this machine.”
Designed to deliver the same performance as the conventional diesel-powered machine, the 525-60E offers a zero-emissions load handling solution. A further benefit of electric operation is a significant reduction in noise levels, making the Loadall suitable for extended operation in sensitive urban job sites.
